Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-24

> IMPORTANT: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Wukong Code can change files and run commands with your operating-system permissions. Review, back up, test, and verify everything. You are responsible for your use of the CLI, its output, your provider charges, and any resulting loss or damage.

> Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Wukong Code, the website, an account, or any related service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them. If you use the CLI on behalf of an organization, you represent that you can bind that organization to these Terms.

> Use at Your Own Risk

You use Wukong Code entirely at your own risk. The CLI can read and modify files, run commands, invoke scripts, contact model providers, and interact with tools in your workspace. You are responsible for deciding whether to run it, what permissions to grant, and what happens afterward.

Before use, maintain appropriate backups and version control, review the workspace and repository, protect secrets, and understand every command or integration you approve. Do not run untrusted code or grant access you cannot afford to lose.

> What Wukong Does

> A local, BYOK AI coding agent for your terminal

> Code editing, command execution, checks, review, and recovery workflows

> Optional account authentication and confirmed text-only feedback

> Optional MCP, plugin, provider, and local Web integrations

Local BYOK use does not require an account. Wukong does not currently provide a hosted model or inference endpoint; your selected provider processes model requests under its own terms.

> Local Execution and Security Boundary

Approved commands run in the current workspace with the permissions of your operating-system user. Wukong is not a complete shell sandbox, security scanner, malware detector, or production change-approval system.

Exact command and working-directory displays do not certify child processes, repository scripts, shell configuration, PATH-resolved programs, hooks, plugins, MCP servers, dependencies, or generated code. Review them yourself before continuing.

> AI Output and Gate Results

AI output may be incorrect, incomplete, stale, biased, insecure, or unsuitable for your environment. It may include unsafe commands, defective code, licensing problems, or invented explanations. You must test, review, and independently verify every result.

A PASS means only that the configured checks and review produced that result for the recorded run. It is not a guarantee of correctness, security, absence of defects, legal or regulatory compliance, production readiness, or fitness for any purpose. `NEEDS_WORK`, `ERROR`, or any other outcome also requires your judgment.

Wukong is not professional, legal, financial, medical, security, or compliance advice. Do not use its output as the sole basis for decisions that could materially affect a person or organization.

> Your Responsibilities

  • Use the service lawfully and only with repositories, data, accounts, and systems you are authorized to access.
  • Back up important data and review diffs, command output, checks, permissions, network writes, and generated files before relying on them.
  • Protect API keys, OAuth tokens, credentials, personal data, confidential information, and regulated data. Do not send information to a model provider unless you are authorized to do so.
  • Pay all fees charged by your selected model provider and comply with its terms, policies, rate limits, and data practices.
  • Verify the licenses and security of dependencies, plugins, MCP servers, prompts, models, generated code, and third-party content.
  • Keep your installation and operating system reasonably current and configure permissions appropriate to the task.

> Acceptable Use

You may not use Wukong Code to:

  • break the law, infringe rights, or access systems, accounts, data, or networks without authorization;
  • steal credentials, deploy malware, damage systems, evade security controls, or facilitate abuse;
  • submit secrets, personal data, or confidential material to a provider without the required authorization;
  • interfere with the service, bypass limits or safeguards, or use it to create misleading or fraudulent records;
  • resell, sublicense, or misrepresent Wukong-hosted services or output as a guarantee.

We may suspend or terminate access to website accounts or hosted services for violations, abuse, security concerns, or legal requirements. The local MIT-licensed CLI remains subject to its separate license and applicable law.

> Third-Party Services

Model providers, GitHub, OAuth providers, Cloudflare, plugins, MCP servers, packages, repositories, and other integrations are controlled by third parties. Their availability, security, content, charges, and terms are outside Wukong's control. You choose whether to connect them and are responsible for reviewing their terms and permissions. Wukong does not endorse or guarantee third-party services or outputs.

> Accounts, Costs, and Data

Accounts are optional for local BYOK use. If you create one, keep your credentials secure and provide accurate information. Notify us of unauthorized access.

The public plan is currently free. Your chosen model provider bills model usage directly. We do not promise that the website, account, feedback, catalog, or other hosted feature will remain available or unchanged.

You retain rights in your inputs and local project data. You grant Wukong only the permissions needed to operate the feature you request. The Privacy Policy describes website and optional account data handling.

> Intellectual Property and Open Source

The local CLI source and components in wukong-code/wukong_cli are available under the MIT License. The MIT License includes its own warranty disclaimer and liability terms.

The website, account and feedback services, operations backend, deployment configuration, documentation repository materials, hosted infrastructure, and Wukong trademarks are separate and remain proprietary. The CLI's MIT license does not grant rights to those products or assets.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO WUKONG FOR THE RELEVANT SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US$100. THESE LIMITS APPLY ONLY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW AND DO NOT EXCLUDE LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED, INCLUDING NON-WAIVABLE CONSUMER RIGHTS.

> Changes, Governing Law, and Contact

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and date. Material changes may also be communicated to account holders. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer law applies. Questions and legal notices: legal@wukong.today.
